Charles Bromley is the corrupt vampiric leader of Bromley Industries, a company that farms humans for their blood. Before 2009 he discovered he had cancer, so the vampire plague allowed him to live, contributing to his opinion that vampirism is a gift. However, when he became a vampire his daughter ran away, not wishing to become one. At the end of the film, he bites Edward without knowing that his treated blood is a cure for vampirism and is thus turned back into a human. He is then strapped to a chair and placed in the elevator where he is left helpless as he is ripped apart and fed on by starving vampires.
